What a night!!!!
I arrived at the 02 arena with my Auntie and Cousin at around 6 in the evening. We went into the 02 and it was packed! There were so many people there already. I was having a look around cos I've never been to the 02 before - it's a beautiful place - it's amazing to see what they have done with it.
When I was having a look around I noticed the merchandise stool and I started shaking. My cousin had to help me buy the merchandise cos I was in such a mad state! I was so excited and I just couldn't believe that the day had finally arrived. It was madness. I bought all my stuff and then queued to get in.
We were let into the arena at 6.30 and I managed to get to my seat after a mad rush. I was sitting in block 420, Row B and I had quite a good view. I was in the upper tier but it was still so amazing.
At 7 Tim Daniel came on and sung 5 of his songs. I thought he was really good and had a beautiful voice. He finished just after 7.20 and at 7.30 Sophie Ellis-Bextor came on and sung some of her old and recent hits. I thought she sung brilliantly live and it was a definite warm up for the fans before Take That came on.
Sophie finished at 8.15 and we had a long wait until the boys came on. The crowd starting doing the Mexican wave and the whole atmosphere was spectacular.
Where I was sitting I could see the stairs backstage. I looked over there every now and then to see if I could spot the lads and then I saw Dawn. I was like 'OMG, I just saw Gary's wife' lol. Just before they were set to come on I saw Jason go past, then Mark, Howard and Gary. I said to myself 'this is it!'
And then at 8.45 it started. The lights dimmed and the opera singing began. The special effects/hologram/video was shown at the back of the stage and when it showed the building with the TT symbol I thought 'OMG they're coming!' I started getting really nervous and then they appeared on stage and the start of Reach Out began playing throughout the arena. I suddenly burst into tears and couldn't stop myself. It was amazing and OMG did I scream!!! I probably deafened everyone around me! Gary sung it beautifully. Mark came down off the stage at one point and shook the crowd's hands. Reach Out was a brilliant start to the concert.
They then sung It Only Takes A Minute and the dancers came down from backstage. I loved the dancing and when the dancers took the lads jackets off, I screamed really loudly! I saw Dawn dancing with Howard and shouted out her name really loudly. Jason and Howard did their pole dancing and it was amazing.
After the song finished, the boys had a little chat and Gary said that the cast of star stories were in the audience. Gary asked Jason what he thought of the star stories episode about them and he said it was accurate. Lol. Gary asked Howard the same question and he answered with the loud roar which they made the actor playing Howard, have. I laughed so hard when that happened. Howard then said his daughter, Lola was in the audience and I shouted out 'Lola!!' Howard was talking to the crowd and he looked to his right and said 'Markie' and Mark looked to his right and said 'Gary' and he looked to his right and said 'Jason'. That made me laugh. So random!
Howard then stepped down and introduced the next song Beautiful World, I thought he sung it beautifully.
Patience was the next song and Gary's vocals were excellent.
Mark then spoke to the audience about how he liked it when fans that went to the Ultimate Tour had their phones and cameras with them. He said 'Come on? get out your cameras and phones'. I had my camera in my hand the whole time and was waving it in the air at that point. After his little chat, he started to sing Hold On. OMG? it was just how I imagined and much much better!!! He is so beautiful and his voice just blew me away.
Gary then took to the piano and the boys went to their mic stands and they sung I'd Wait For Life. It was beautiful.
Lloyd then took to the B-Stage and sung Lulu's vocals from Relight My Fire. He was brilliant. The dancers then appeared on the main stage and the boys came up from the stairs. I screamed really loudly and when the chorus started I stood up and started dancing like mad. When Lloyd started singing 'Craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy', I went hysterical! It was a brilliant performance.
Rule The World was the next song and smoke started to fill the stage. Gary started to sing and the audience went mad. It was amazing. They started to walk to the B-Stage on the walkway which was just above the audience. It was brilliant.
The piano appeared from under the stage and Gary started to play Could It Be Magic with the other three laying on the stage. I loved the slow version of the song. It was beautiful.
The boys then asked the crowd if any of us had bought the Take That & Party album. I screamed very loudly! Then they said they wanted to test us on some of the songs from the album and they sung 'Now you can do what you like' and everyone (well? most people) shouted 'Do What You Like'. Then they sung 'Come On, Come On, Come On, Come On' and everyone shouted 'Take That & Party'. It was a brilliant atmosphere. Mark then said he wanted to test us on a different album and he started to sing the first verse of 'Babe'. Everyone in the arena was singing with him.
Gary then said that we should all know the words to the next song and he sung Back For Good. I loved that performance and Gary sung it beautifully.
After the song, Howard picked up a bra which was thrown on to the stage and said 'look at the size of these'. It was hilarious. They all started picking them up and compared the sizes of each bra. I laughed so much. The next song was Everything Changes and just before they started singing, a bra was thrown and it hit Mark in the shoulder. Bless him! Mike Stevens and the band came up on stage and some of the dancers did as well - including Dawn. Gary started dancing with Dawn and it was beautiful. When they finished singing, Gary said they were going to walk through the crowd to get back to the main stage. Gary and Jason went one way, and Mark and Howard went the other way. Gary, Jason and Howard were back on stage and Gary said 'Where is he?' lol. Mark finally got back to the stage.
They sung a final chorus of Everything Changes and left Jason on his own. He was just setting himself up for Wooden Boat and had a little chat. He said his Dad was in the audience and it showed him on the big screen. Bless! Jason sung Wooden Boat really well and his vocals were perfect. He introduced the girls playing the instruments and after said 'sometimes in life you don't know what you're waiting for? so it's good to be the first one on the dancefloor'. Jason left the stage.
The line 'on the dancefloor' echoed around the arena and Howard came on D-Jing behind a podium, punching the air with his fist. The crowd went wild. Give Good Feeling started and Gary, Jason and Mark came on the stage. Gary started to sing and Howard, Jason and Mark strut their stuff and did their dancing. It was brilliant.
Straight after they sung Sure and did the famous crawl at the beginning. I screamed! The singing and dancing was amazing. When they finished they introduced all the dancers and when Gary said 'And the beautiful Dawn Barlow' I shouted 'Dawn!' They then introduced the band.
They went off stage to get changed and the choir started for Never Forget. They came on stage from the curtain at the back of the stage and started to walk on the stage as if they were on a treadmill. I loved the performance and Howard's vocals were excellent.
Shine was the next song, sung by the beautiful Mark and it was brilliant. I loved it!
Pray was the final song of the night and it was amazing. Before they started singing, the boys said their thankyou's for the night and Gary said 'One More?', and everyone screamed. He said 'Ok? going back a bit now? this was our first number one single'. The crowd then went wild cos they knew what it was. When the boys started to do their dance moves I screamed really loudly - Actually everyone did! It was the best way to end the show.
They bowed and left the show by walking down the stairs. The last one I saw was Mark.
The concert was the best night of my life and I shall never forget it!
