I last saw TT at the Nynex arena 12 years ago, at the tender age of 15. As I'd been a fan since I was 11, I was desperate to see them live but my mum would never let me go. So my mate's mum took me on the sly... I was well chuffed.
Imagine how gutted I was when TT did their comeback tour when I was almost due with my 3rd child!! I had to miss it.
This year though, nothing was going to stop me!! Even if it meant I was to go alone...It was the 1st night in 7 years that I hadn't put my kids to bed myself, and also the first time my husband had cooked...(when I got home I noticed 'black' stuff in the bin and also take out pizza boxes...hmmmmm)
Anyway, I almost skipped to the tube station full of excitement listening to the Beautiful World album on my ipod. I wasn't even this excited on my wedding day!!
As I arrived at North Greenwich station my heart was thumping, I almost started to worry that I wouldn't find the arena, I didn't realise how close it was! As my head lifted up and saw the 'dome' my eyes widened and my legs were just wanting to run to the box office to collect my ticket. I composed myself, took a deep breath and walked (fast) towards the doors.
Once I'd collected my ticket, I calmed down a little...that was until I saw the merchandise...so heart thumping again I made my way to the goodies, I spent £94 (if my hubby reads this it was just £20 really ) I had a wander round the bars and restaurants to pass time. At 6pm I joined the queue which was quickly growing at the gates.
I found '102' and the man on the door showed me to my seat on row c, I looked at my seat, then noticed the b stage right in front of me!! I asked the man if that was really my seat, he nodded, to which my reply was' no way!!' He laughed and shook his head before walking off.
So straight on the phone to my hubby to tell him I had a fantastic view!! I felt lonely, just sat there on my own watching the arena fill up.
When the lights went down, and four podiums appeared on the stage I swear I almost wet myself, I looked at my camera to check it was on, looked back and TT had appeared from nowhere behind the podiums. I screamed. Loud. Suddenly I didn't feel alone anymore.
I've already gone on quite a bit so I'll just highlight some of my fave bits during the show...
BEAUTIFUL WORLD was sang deliciously and the walk over the bridge to the B stage had me transfixed!! They were soooooo close to me!!
JASON pointing out to us all saying 'You're all showing your age' when we sang back to some of the old songs.
NEVER FORGET was done amazingly!! I loved the idea with the fan, I found it quite comical, really made me laugh...
MARK arriving back to the main stage (during the walk through) a while later than the others looking a bit disheveled, Gary looked at him and laughed as he had to climb on to the stage rather than use the steps like the others because the next song was about to start.
GIVE GOOD FEELING bought back old memories and was really strange seeing them wearing tracksuits!!
As they took the final bow, I clapped, stomped, and hollered!
All the way home I was in a daze that I couldn't snap out of, going over and over every last bit of the concert I could remember. I couldn't sleep that night, I wanted to tell someone about it all, so I woke up my hubby and had him listen to me for over an hour! I was the same the next morning with my kids and with the other 'mums' at the school playground. I've also taken a copy of all my pictures with me everywhere in case I bump into anyone I know!!
It was a fantastic night and one that I'll Never Forget.
