Could This Be 'Take That' Magic

Only one word needed to sum the show up 'Fantastic'

As we approach the arena we could hear 'Never Forget' blasting out into the cold Newcastle air courtesy of the local radio station who were having a bit of a karaoke outside and handing out TT masks. This just got everyone in the mood before we even entered the arena.

As we went in the first support act was already on so we found our seats in the dark. Thank goodness for mobile phones with lights to see our seat numbers!!! Tim Daniels was great, loved his sound. Then came Sophie Ellis-Bextor, she got everyone warmed up and by the time she got to her final song 'Murder on the Dancefloor' everyone was on their feet dancing.

Then came the moment we were all waiting for. The musical intro which started on the centre stage seemed to last forever as the anticipation of Take That's appearance on the main stage grew. Then WOW they appeared behind 4 podiums in their smart suits and TT rosettes. The arena erupted with screams as Reach Out began. Next, It Only Takes a Minute, a frenzy of colour and excitement, maybe even a few gasps at this raunchy performance. Not forgetting the welcome return of Jason and Howard's pole dancing skills!

This was followed by a few songs from Beautiful World, first the title track sung beautifully by Howard. (This song is rapidly becoming one of my faves.) Then 'Patience' which was amazing to hear everyone singing along. Mark then gave us a great performance of Hold On, but only after he realised that all he had to do was shout 'NEWCASTLE' and everyone went mad! - Thanks for giving Middlesbrough a mention too!!
Then for a little breather while Gary gave a perfect performance of I'd Wait For Life, this song sounds even more amazing live.

Time to heat things up a little, literally, with another exciting reworking of Relight My Fire which saw Lulu's role replaced by Lloyd singing Gnarls Barkleys 'Crazy'. - Genius, this works so well. And if all that wasn't enough the boys set themselves alight!

Now time to cool things down a bit, my favourite part of the show, simply magical as the green lights shine out across the arena to a sparkling globe suspended above the centre stage. Rule the World begins and the boys make their way over the crowd to finish the song in the centre.
From the centre stage we were treated to a few of the old classics, Could It Be Magic, Back For Good and Everything Changes. Plus a little test of our Take That and Party knowledge with a sing along. Back for Good must be Take That's anthem, the whole arena singing every word, arms waving - a moment to treasure. (Have a rest lads we'll sing this one for you!)
Then its back to the main stage, via the crowd. Thankfully they made it in one piece!
Wooden boat was next just Jason (now with Guitar) and his string quartet. His moment to shine!

Now for a bit more energy, DJ Howard in the house. Give Good Feeling, it certainly did. Break dancing galore and that infamous crawl we love from the old days! Sure was next and time to introduce us to the dancers and band who did a great job.
Then the music for Never Forget begins, feeling a little sad as this usually means the end is near but this was soon forgotten as we marvelled at the wonderful visual effects and the treadmills were back. Very clever and timed to perfection. And if they weren't tired by now they cranked up the speed on the treadmills. Where do they get their energy?
The boys said their goodbyes and we screamed for more. Back they came for a glitzy performance of Shine with all the spectacle to match the video. Finally they finished with their first no1 Pray, no changes to this one, just the way we like it!

This really was the end, all over in what seemed like a flash. Loved every minute of it. Roll on New Years Eve!
