Oh my god...
I've just had my best birthday EVER - and since it was my 28th, and the fact that last year I was proposed to - that's not a small thing
Last time Take That were in Denmark was April 8th 1995 - and I couldn't go - my mum wouldn't let me - I've been upset about that ever since - but now 12½ years later - I finally get to see the guys on stage - and I must say - I will remember it forever.
Even my husband - who normally listens to music like Metallica, Bon Jovi and such - was impressed - he said it was amazing how the ENTIRE crowd just took part in the show - and made it one of his best experiences as well.
I was sooooo happy to learn that Howard was back again for the last show in Germany - that meant he would be here as well - and he was - looking better than ever - but hey - so do all the guys.
I've read a couple of the reviews from earlier shows - but nothing you read can ever compare to being there.
I've heard that some people had been waiting since the night before - that must have been cold... We arrived at around 5.30 pm., and the doors opened at 6.15 pm. - that was actually perfect timing - I believe we got in among the first 1.500 people and found ourselves the perfect place a little to the left of the walkway right between the main stage and the B stage, so we had a perfect view at all times.
At around 8.30 pm. the lights went out and the opera part began - and the waiting that had lasted 12½ years was finally over.
I was soooo impressed with the way the big screen worked - it looked so fantastic and having the guys standing there singing reach out was just - indescribable.
It only takes a minute came on next - I think it was around this point the guys in the audience woke up - nice dancers
It's hard to pick a favourite part of the show - I was the most amazing thing from beginning to end - but here's a few picks anyway.
Relight my fire - I thought that number couldn't become more wild - but it could - It was like a circus up there - lots of dancers - real fire (I must admit - I was a bit afraid that something would happen to Mark's hair, Jason's foot or Gary's arm when they were set on fire) and the "crazy" part instead of Lulu singing was great - it just fit the song perfectly.
Rule the world just created the most amazing atmosphere in the hall - all that green light and smoke gave an almost eerie look. Then the walkway came down and the guys walked to the B stage - then Gary sang "the stars are coming out tonight" and the ceiling was showered with green "stars" - truly amazing.
Could it be magic also performed on the B stage was - well magic - there's no better word to describe it - Gary and his piano in the middle - dancers on the stage - four of the dancers stood on one of the rings that was hoisted into the air throwing confetti at us all while the ring was hanging sideways. A bit of the floor was turning, so Howard, Mark and Jason passed us in turn - waving and smiling - and looking like they really enjoyed themselves - which I hope they did.
Wooden boat I must say is a great song - I don't understand why Jason haven't been singing before now - he looked at bit nervous though - he had his eyes closed for most of the song - but he hid it so great - he really ought not to worry - we all love him and his voice.
Mark singing Hold on in the beginning of the show and Shine as the second last song was great - he just did them all the justice they deserve - it was just fantastic.
Never forget - I think along with Rule the world, this was my favourite part of the show. This screen came up in the middle of the stage and a film started rolling. The four guys came closer and closer, and walked through the screen at exactly the right time. They were walking on this treadmill like we've seen in other shows as well. People kept coming from front of the stage walking past the guys on the treadmill and disappearing through the screen - all with perfect timing.
It was amazing to see the entire crowd with their arms in the air along with the boys - I must say - it almost brought tears to my eyes.
The very last song was Pray - and all I can say is "all I do each night is pray, hoping that I'll be a part of you again someday"
Even though I'm now 28, married and pregnant - yesterday for a few hours I was 15 again - and ready to give anything to just be with the guys.
Take That - you will always rule my world.
We actually have plans with my parents tonight - but you know - I think I'm just going to buy tickets for tonight's show - and cancel on my parents - that'll be my payback for 1995...
