It's impossible. Totally impossible to describe the atmosphere when TT popped on stage that first time. So many words would fit the bill. Electric, Intense, Exciting, Thrilling, Overwhelming? the list could go on.
I love Reach Out. It's one of my favourite songs from the album and an amazing song to open with. TT as politicians? *Swoon* TT in suits? *double swoon* Being stood a bit further back we were able to see so much more than the night before, to see what affect these 4 guys from Manchester have over thousands of people in one place is crazy Five minutes before the show and the place is buzzing, five minutes into the show and the place is electrifying with everyone singing along and jumping around.
I never could have imagined that after last year's opening anything could compare but the way the screens show it going into TT HQ and them popping on stage was awesome to say the least. Whoever came up with that idea defo deserves a medal!
After Reach Out it was male fantasies galore as the politician podiums became seats and the guys had lap dancers at their feet for It Only Takes A Minute. How many times this song can get changed by Take That I don't know but in my honest opinion this version surpassed even the Tango version from last year's tour. Not just because we got to see Jason and Howard poll dancing but the whole arrangement of the song was amazing. Now what was that? Poll dancing? OMFG!! Seriously we had our jaws touching the floor when Howard was upside down doing the splits on that poll God man! What are you trying to do to us!?!?! Jason says something about "thanks for letting us indulge in our fantasies". Well, no actually, Thank you for indulging ours! What better fantasy can you have other than your favourite member of Take That giving you a poll dance followed by a lap dance?? Yeah Ok, I can think of one other??????..
Note to self: Enough! Move on girl! You have a whole show to get through!
Next we were treated to the vocal talents of Mr. Donald singing Beautiful World. Now I don't know about the rest of the audience but I for one was blown away by his voice. Not to say he used to have a bad singing voice but he sounded amazing singing that live! The crowd went mad for it (again) and the two of us were singing along at the top of our voices, as much as we could anyway
Next on the list is Patience. Who could not love Patience huh? I know we've all heard it a million times already with it being the only song we had before Beautiful World came out but it's a classic already. The first Number 1 of the perfectly reformed Take That and by all accounts a favourite amongst the crowd. You could barely here the guys singing it for everyone else singing so loud and it sounded fantastic! 10,000+/- people singing a song like that is actually quite emotional. Shows why it was such a big hit when everyone knows all the words like that!
For Hold On we literally had to hold on to each other in glee when Mark's doing his Stomp thing and singing his little heart out! He puts so much effort and energy into it bless him! Surprise surprise the whole place erupted into whoops and screams. Of course everyone loves a Mark song, and this one is on par with Reach Out for my favourite album track so totally thrilled he sung it.
Now I know I'd Wait For Life is not everyone's favourite song. I also know that it is an emotional song and the words make a lot of sense. So how can I sit here and make judgement on this song? I'll admit that it's one of the songs I normally skip on the album but sung live? Sugar! There's something I can't quite describe and it gave me goosebumps. Maybe it's because I know it's the first song Take That wrote together after they got back together? Or? I don't know, but I know I loved it. 100%.
From there it was a speedy change and Lloyd taking over Lulu's part on Relight My Fire was genius! The main reason Relight was never high on my list of favourites was mainly down to her part. He seemed to give it a whole new twist and his voice is incredible. Out came Take That and with them the crazy outfits that we've become accustomed to for this song. Shirtless Howard *swoon* We've all known for a long time that these guys are hot but now they're literally on fire Mark has his head on fire, Jason has his leg alight and Gary (who is looking mighty yummy at the mo) and Howard have their arms lit! Brave lads they are! Anyone try and set me on fire would be in for a challenge I tell you The special effects for that must've taken some planning so I have to congratulate them all for pulling it off and making this old song feel brand new! You made me love it again
Off they went again for another change while the giant light ball came down right in front of us. As they came back on stage the walk way descended from the ceiling and the whole arena was electrifying. Along they came to the middle of the B-Stage, literally a metre away from us You could have knocked me down with a feather seriously I've been front row before but this was different. It felt sooooo much closer. Here they sang Rule The World. By now I was only hearing this song for the 4th time and I knew every word already! Totally love this song! The stage for the B-Stage is better than it's ever been before. They don't even have to move as it revolves around so everyone can get a good all round view Again, genius idea from the stage planners! After Rule The World we had "Old School" Take That with Could it Be Magic, Back For Good and Everything Changes. Although, as it shows, some things don't change. The same thing happens with these songs as has always happened with these songs? the crowd went mad! We had a little sing song with call and answer for Do What U Like, Take That and Party, Babe?
During Everything Changes I saw out the corner of my eye the big screens. And there we were!! Carly and me on the big screens? AGAIN!!! 2 concerts, 2 days, 3rd time on the screens!! We so knew it was a good idea to buy those Union Jack flags at the airport on the way there
The whole B-Stage bit of the show was amazing! We'd gone to the arena not thinking there was going to be one there and not only was it there but our idols were just a metre away from us! At one point we had Mark laying down right there. The one time we'll ever be able to say that we had Mark Owen laying next to us Also at one stage a girl Carly was stood next to was shouting "I Love You" to Jason, and he was saying "No you don't". Carly was laughing so much Jason started laughing too and the girl soon stopped then
When the dancers are lifted up on there to throw out confetti we were both trying to catch a bit but with no luck When they'd gone back to the main stage a crew guy who'd been sat down stood up in front of us and had loads of it on his back so I leaned over and got a couple of pieces off the back of his jumper
Back on the main stage again it was now Jason's turn to have a go at lead vocals as he closed his eyes and sang Wooden Boat perfectly. It brought tears to mine and Carly's eyes and was wonderful. This for certain has to be one of the most emotional moments of the whole night. We've all waited so long for Jason to be given his own song now here he is singing it live by himself to a packed out arena! Aww!
The next bit is the reason we both lost our voices!
On the dance floor! DJ HD! Oh. My. Freaking. God!!!!! Never in my life did I expect to hear Give Good Feeling live. Never ever ever! And not just the song but the whole thing, falling on their knees like in Manchester 1994 Jaws on floor? Check! Heart banging against chest? Check! OMG! OMG! OMG! Who would have thought it??! I swear we were like excited school girls again Talk about a shock to the system!! Argh! *swoon* *faint*
*wake up*
Sure. Ok, Sure was next. I think I was still recovering from Give Good Feeling when they started singing this song as I really don't remember it so I'll just have to say it was amazing
From there the first few chords of Never Forget and I was awake again, back on the planet They opened that huge white flag thing and had the guys walking down to the stage on a projector before they came through the flag onto the stage. Master stroke of genius again that was amazing! Never Forget was Grade A! Amazing! Totally loved the astronaut, Charlie Chaplin, Audrey Hepburn!! The whole place (well apart from one lady near to us) was getting involved in the arms up and clapping actions, including Grace who now was sat on the B-Stage so she could see! What a sweetie!
When Never Forget was over the guys were off stage, the lights were out and we waited? and waited?
Then Shine!! Woo! Silver foil galore I love this song live! Well I love it all the time but live is even better! The way Mark comes on sitting up high, the way everyone sings along and dances throughout it all. You can't really say anything other than amazing, fabulous darling!!
When Shine came to an end it's the bit of a concert no one likes to hear, "Thanks for coming, get home safely" because then you know it's coming to the end already? nearly just one more song?
Pray - complete with re-used graphics from last years tour This song never gets old and it's such a nice song to end on, certainly a change from Never Forget anyway For the last time everyone was on their feet singing and dancing along with the guys.
Then, in a flash that's it! They're gone! The lights went up and we're left there stunned. Where did the last 2 hours go? How is it over already?
Time certainly does fly when you're having fun!
