...This is not just a Beautiful World...

...This is a Take That Beautiful World

Somehow it seems unfitting to describe what I saw in the Belfast Odyssey last night as a "concert" because it was so much more than that!!

This musical spectacular puts you through a whole spectrum of emotions and by the end it is impossible to wipe the smile off your face - this is Feelgood at its very, very best. From the moment the lights go down to the time that they come back up 2 hours later your senses get the treat of their lives. If any of you believed that Take That had peaked with the Ultimate Tour then you are in for a wonderful surprise.

It wasn't my first one this week - they have been amazing but last night was pretty special. The crowd were even louder and the guys chatted more than ever. Also, the lighting was very different so I guess they are trying to make improvements - (although I don't see how they can as it is pretty close to perfection!)

The memory of Mark on the B stage wearing pink, furry bunny ears will stay with me for a long time as will Howard's reaction when he noticed them. He was doubled over with laughter.
Mark was so funny last night, at one point he pulls out a box from under the piano for Gary to use as a step so he can sit on top of the piano while on the B stage. As he pulled out the box - Gary jumped up onto the piano from the other side and Mark just stood and pointed at the box with his hand on his hip!!

Did anyone else notice Mark looking as though he was having a little nap at the side of the B stage while Gary was singing Could It Be Magic??

I LOVE that they pass their water bottles into the crowd when they have taken a drink.

I LOVE that the other 3 applaud Gary when he finishes CIBM - it is a truly magnificent performance by the way!! One night Mark asked the audience if they like this version or if they prefer the faster, dancing version. The crowd just roared their approval - so if the guys are having doubts about that number they seriously shouldn't be.

I LOVE the sexy lap dancing/pole dancing routine and when Howard and Jason did their pole dancing I swear I had to sit down - my knees literally went weak!!
And then Jason shyly apologises for them seeming like sexist, chauvinistic pigs and assures us that the number is meant to be just a bit of fun!! (to be honest I don't believe anyone would have cared if they are sexist, chauvinistic pigs at this point - those first 2 songs are simply breathtaking)
Also the sexiness of Give Good Feeling???..I can't find the words but I certainly needed a lie down after that!!

I LOVE that the audience roars their approval from start to finish - even all the blokes who are" there to please their partners" (Yeah right??)
The crowd sang Patience and Back For Good so loudly last night that at times they drowned out Take That. It was fabulous. The whole arena was a mass of swaying arms at one point when they turned the lights onto the crowd. Howard appeared really emotional as he looked out at it.
They show their appreciation of their audience all the way through it.

I LOVE the way the audience slowly realises that the "medicine Man" singing soulfully on the B stage is in fact slowly singing some lines from Relight My Fire and suddenly we know what is about to happen. There is near hysteria at this point. Then we see RMF performed with an African drum beat going on - sheer genius.
(I particularly loved Jason & Gary wearing the black leather gloves?.)

I LOVE that the chat is different each night. So we know they are not following a completely set script. On Friday night Gary commented that Mark had helped out with arranging the costumes?"Mark can you explain to me how I have ended up wearing a pair of wellies?" - hilarious!!
Another classic from Gary at one show, "I've done more acting tonight than I did on Heartbeat!"
Last night by the time they had told us about Jason's bus trip and some other stuff Mark looked back at the others and said
"This has turned into a babble hasn't it?" and they all cracked up. It was lovely to see.

I LOVE that I saw Gary make a few mistakes. On opening night he missed his cue for the last verse of pray 'cos he had danced too far away from the mike!!
On Friday he completely forgot to bring the musicians up onto the B stage and was about to launch into Everything Changes without them. Mark had to remind him to introduce them. "Oh I am so sorry everyone I'm getting muddled up!" And on Sunday he missed his cue in Never Forget. I really hope he isn't beating himself up about it cos it just made him appear so chilled out?

But what I LOVE the most is witnessing the closeness and friendship between the four of them. You can really see that they are loving every minute of each show. Gary seems so laid back - not a furrowed brow or awkward move in sight, Jason absolutely owned that stage at times,
Mark appeared relaxed and happy and Howard just looks as if he is having the time of his life.

Their happiness and satisfaction surrounds them like a big bubble and you simply can't help wanting to immerse yourself in it too.

Together they make it a Beautiful World and long may it continue????

PS Please can I just say a huge thank you to all the lovely Belfast people I met.
I have never come across such warm and friendly people in my life. You are fantastic and I am so glad for you that Take That opened their tour in your city.
